Fixed Attenuators (68)
JFW offers 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm coaxial fixed attenuators with power ratings up to 1000 Watts CW. We have broken up the online fixed attenuator models into five sortable tables:[envira-gallery id="38714"]Our attenuators are available with a variety of RF connectors: BNC, N, SMA, TNC 4.1/9.5, 4.3/10, 7/16, 2.4mm, 2.9mm. Stocked attenuator models have male/female RF connectors (i.e. model #50F-003 SMA has SMA male/SMA female connectors). If requested, JFW can manufacture attenuators with mixed connector types (i.e. N/SMA). Our online models are not the only attenuators JFW manufactures. JFW also manufactures custom fixed attenuator models. Email your requirements (i.e. size restrictions, dust/water resistant IP65, high peak power, 93 Ohm impedance) directly to our engineering department.  We offer custom models with pricing that is in-line with our standard online models. -

Manually Variable Attenuators (110)
JFW offers a variety of manual step attenuators. We have broken up the online manually variable attenuators into eleven sortable tables:[envira-gallery id="38737"]Dual rotary attenuators are manual step attenuators with two knobs (i.e. 0-110dB with 1dB step knob and 10dB step knob). Single rotary attenuators are manual step attenuators with a single knob (i.e. 0-10dB with 1dB step knob). All panel mounted rotary attenuators listed on the website are 19 inch rack mountable.  If you have a specific attenuator application, please email our engineering department. -
Programmable Attenuators (88)
JFW offers 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm programmable attenuators with either relay or solid-state designs. Â We have broken up the online programmable attenuator models into six tables:[envira-gallery id="38754"]Relay Programmable Step Attenuator
Electro-mechanical variable step attenuators are available with 50 Ohm or 75 Ohm impedance. Each attenuation step is individually controlled.  If you want 3dB total, then you must activate the 1dB step and the 2dB step.  Switching times for these models are in the milliseconds. The attenuators can be controlled by +Vdc or TTL. All of these models operate down to DC due to their mechanical design. Each dB step of the attenuator has typical lifetime of 1 million operations.Solid-State Programmable Step Attenuator
Solid-state variable step attenuators are available with 50 Ohm or 75 Ohm impedance. Each attenuation step is individually controlled. All solid-state models operate over a frequency band (i.e. 200-6000MHz). Switching times are in the microseconds. Their solid-state design means that there is no mechanical wear during operation.Analog Programmable Attenuator
These models are continuously variable stolid-state attenuators available with 50 Ohm or 75 Ohm impedance. Â The attenuation level is dependent on the control voltage level. Â Typical control voltage range is 0Vdc (maximum dB setting) to +10Vdc (minimum dB setting). -
Reactive & Resistive Power Divider/Combiner (102)
JFW offers reactive & resistive power divider/combiner models with either 50 Ohm or 75 Ohm impedance. We have broken up the online RF power divider/combiner models into seven sortable tables:[envira-gallery id="38720"]Resistive Divider/Combiner
Resistive power dividers/combiners are constructed in a star configuration. All ports are symmetrical. There is no common port with this design type. A RF signal into one port will be divided up equally to all other ports. Resistive dividers are commonly used to connect multiple radios together to simulate a mesh network. The resistive construction does inherently have more insertion loss than the reactive designs. For applications that require lowest loss possible (i.e. fan-in & fan-out) the reactive type is the better design.Reactive Divider/Combiner
Reactive power dividers/combiners are constructed with either a Wilkinson design or a toroidal design. Reactive dividers have a non-symmetrical layout. They are generally used to fan-in or fan-out RF signals because they have less insertion loss than a resistive type divider. An 8-way reactive divider/combiner (i.e. 1X8) can be used to fan-out 1 signal into 8 signals. If used in the reverse direction it can combine 8 signals into 1 signal acting as an 8-way reactive combiner. Reactive dividers typically have 20dB of port-to-port isolation between the combiner ports. Isolation between ports is desirable for RF fan-in applications. If you need help choosing a power divider/combiner for your application, please email our engineering department for recommendations. -
RF Switches (127)
JFW offers 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm RF switches with either electro-mechanical or solid-state designs. We have broken up the online RF switch models into eight sortable tables:[envira-gallery id="38728"]Electro-mechanical RF Switch
Electro-mechanical RF switches have low insertion loss and high port to port isolation. Their switching speed is in the milliseconds (10 mSec typical) and they can cold switch high RF power levels (200W @ 1GHz). Electro-mechanical RF switches do have mechanical wear that limits their lifetime to 1 million operations typical.Solid-State RF Switch
Solid-State RF switches have fast switching speed (microseconds) and high reliability (MTBF 250,000 hours typical). Because solid-state switches have no mechanical wear, the insertion loss repeatability is excellent. Solid-state switches do have lower isolation and higher harmonic distortion than their electro-mechanical counterparts.Reflective Switch: Switch ports are high impedance (i.e. open) when turned off. Absorptive Switch: Switch ports are properly terminated when turned off (i.e. 50 Ohms for 50 Ohm switches). Self-terminating Switch: This term has the identical meaning as the term absorptive switch. Normally Open (N.O.) Switch: When no control power supplied, common port is connected to none of the output ports. Failsafe Switch: When no control power supplied, common port is connected to one of the output ports. -
Terminations and Mismatch Loads (75)
JFW offers 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm coaxial terminations and mismatches with power ratings up to 1000 Watts CW. We have broken up the online termination and mismatch models into four sortable tables:[envira-gallery id="38749"]Terminations
A termination is a 1-port device with a coaxial RF connector. Â The term RF dummy load and RF termination are interchangeable. Â The purpose of a RF termination is to terminate a port with properly matched impedance to prevent RF power from being reflected back to the source.Mismatch Loads
A mismatch load is also a 1-port device with a coaxial RF connector but is used to test devices under mismatched load conditions.  The mismatch VSWR value is built into each JFW model number.  For example, JFW model #50T-032-5.0 N M is a  5.0:1 mismatch (referenced to 50 Ohms) with a 50 Ohm N male connector. If you have any questions about mismatches, please email our engineering department. -
